fnatic star Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson is the recipient of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the WESG 2017 World Finals by HLTV.org and betway.

The 23-year-old takes the medal thanks to his remarkable consistency throughout the event, having averaged a 1.30 rating after posting 1+ ratings in all but one of the 16 maps that he played in Haikou. 

Space Soldiers star Ismailcan "⁠XANTARES⁠" Dörtkardeş was the other favourite for the award heading into the final, with Jesper "⁠JW⁠" Wecksell and Ahmet "⁠paz⁠" Karahoca also in consideration.

Freddy "⁠KRIMZ⁠" Johansson was fnatic's highest-rated player in four of their six group matches and also in the quarter-final series against MVP PK, in which he remarkably registered a 2.41 rating on Inferno.

KRIMZ takes the MVP medal

The Swedish talent featured in the event's stats leaderboards in seven categories, including KDD (+102), percentage of rounds with at least one kill (58.2%), damage difference per round (21.6) and total opening kills (57).

This is the first MVP award given to KRIMZ, who has had a dream start to 2018, boasting an average 1.27 rating on LAN after four events, two of which fnatic won.
